The 38th Annual Bead Affaire - October 15th, 2016!

Hello Friends!

It is once again that special time of year! The weather is crisp and the nights are brisk with the stars twinkling brightly in the evening sky.  The leaves are turning stunning colors and all of this means that it is time for the very BEST bead show in New England, the Bead Affaire, sponsored by Beadesigner International.

The Bead Affaire has an amazing line up of bead artists and bead vendors with something for everyone. You will find handmade beads, natural stone beads, imported beads, beaded objects …. old beads, new beads, big beads, blue beads….  and me!

This will be my 2^nd year back to this wonderful show that has meant so much to me over the years. 

My Ocean & Moon Series - Collaboration with Chris O'Connor

I have been increasing my hours at the torch, having more fun and getting more and more back into the swing of things.  My goal is to find my ‘Zen’ place again, where flameworking is the cure for anything that ails me. 

I will have beads, pendants, beaded goodies: bookmarks, key chains, pens, finished necklaces and ribbons and chains to accompany a pendant or bead.  I will also have a couple of copies of Paul Engle’s  book ‘Conciatore’ and a few of Emilio Santini’s little bottles, vessels and earrings.    

I am very excited about the prospect of seeing old friends and meeting new bead enthusiasts!  Stop by and say ‘hello’!

Hello my Glass and Bead Friends!

Well I am very excited and I have to admit, a little nervous, to be returning to the best bead show in New England, the Bead Affaire, sponsored by Beadesigner International.  I have been very busy playing with molten glass and fire; reacquainting myself with the quiet calm that comes over me when I find myself sitting behind a torch.

I’m looking forward to seeing all you wonderful bead people!  I'm happy to be able to have my wonderful hubby, Paul, giving me a hand at the show this year. Yeah Paul!  

Tucson 2015 - New Show - Tucson Glass Art and Bead Festival

Hello Glass and Bead Friends!

I am thrilled to announce that I will be returning to Tucson this year! It has been two years since I’ve been there and I miss the people and the town itself. 

I will be exhibiting at a new show, the Tucson Glass Art and Bead Festival, a show focusing on handmade glass. The line-up of exhibitors has some of the most talented artists in glass. One such artist, Jared DeLong, has not been in Tucson for several years and his glasswork and carving skills are unrivaled.  Also attending will be a group of Japanese artists who have cornered the market on delicate detail in their glass beads and artwork.  Lewis Wilson will  present select items for viewing and sale from his personal collection-- along with his own artwork; he has been making glass art for over 40 years! This year, my husband Paul will be with me at the show. He just finished writing Conciatore, the Life and Times of 17^th Century Glassmaker Antonio Neri, a biography on Antonio Neri, author of the first printed book of glass recipes  published in 1612. Paul will be available to discuss his new book, Antonio Neri, and to sell signed copies of Conciatore. (For more info on Conciatore: http://www.conciatore.org/

Continuing with tradition, I will have my friend Emilio Santini’s miniature bottles, amphorae and earrings for sale.  All pieces are brand new and beautiful!
