Hi Friends,
I wanted to share with you a beautiful
necklace created by Priscilla Beadle, and a story that touched my heart. The
necklace she created includes one of my heart beads along with several Venetian
blown glass beads. Priscilla has a wonderful blog, https://priscillabeadle.com/ that I’ve
found addictive and would love to turn you on to. I check often to see if there
is a new post, sharing her newest creative designs.

The Nightingale's Eye, Created by Priscilla Beadle |
Priscilla creates a piece of art
from her collection of beads and then weaves a story around the piece. Her
process of choosing a name for each piece is a unique technique that is a great
story in-and-of itself!
When I visited her blog this month
I was tickled and thrilled. I saw the new necklace and earrings, including one of
my glass heart beads, and then I read on…
The name of this piece is Nightingale’s Eye, and the tale of the nightingale
that Priscilla tells has such a wonderful and powerful meaning for me.
Reading her post left me stunned,
literally stopped in my tracks.
The CliffsNotes version…
I am grieving the loss of my sister, Darlene,
and have many sad days. As part of my healing process, I have been making heart
beads, bi-color with a twist combining both halves, symbolizing an unending love
between two people.
Seeing Priscilla including one of my heart
beads in her necklace design; the tale of the nightingale, traveling to a
village and “hearing only sad songs, sang its own song to cheer them up;”
and BOOM…
The striking and beautiful
combination of
ingredients in Priscilla’s necklace… my heart bead… the tale of sadness… the nightingale’s
cheerful song…
The nightingale cheered me up
too!! Thank you Priscilla Beadle!
It is so personal
to me and poignant for where I am in my life right now. I think Priscilla must
be psychic!
I met Priscilla at the wonderful Bead Affaire show in Watertown, MA. The show is sponsored by Beadesigner International, held annually in October.
